World UNESCO Heritage Sites
I was talking with someone recently about World UNESCO Heritage Sites (WUHS). I mentioned that I had been to Bath, England, where the entire town is a WUHS. I started looking up places I had been to see how many were WUHS and discovered that I have been to a few.
In my home country of the United States, I've been to:
1. Cahokia Mounds
2. The Alamo (which is part of the Mission Complex of San Antonio)
In the United Kingdom, I've been to:
3. Cliffs of Moher, Ireland (this is actually a UNESCO Global Geopark, so it counts in that respect)
4. Stonehenge, England
5. Bath, England
6. Westminster Abbey, England
7. The Tower of London, England (I didn't go in but wandered around it on two separate occasions)
I've now unlocked a new hobby: visiting World UNESCO Heritage Sites. I checked the link for sites, and there are a few places I can check out when I head abroad later this year. This should be a fun adventure!
How many WUHS have you been to?
